Molly had a very successful wholesale business, but her online shop had been pretty low key. Her goal in hiring us was to create a site that collected and simplified her online presence. She wanted us to create a website with a shopping focus that gave visitors a place to learn more about her, her career and what she has to offer as both a shop and as a brand that collaborates well.
We put our focus on improving the shopping experience, decreasing abandoned carts, and telling the Molly Hatch story. Molly shared with us,
I want the buyer to understand that while I have a large brand presence I am a tiny design studio with 2 employees and myself making things happen. It’s really a tiny little business! I think that understanding this will give people a sense of personal investment in me as a designer and artist, and I find that is important for me as a shopper and I would imagine it would be important to my customers as well.

The redesigned site highlights Molly’s beautiful branding and photography, paired with delicate typography and custom hand-drawn details. The aesthetic aligns nicely Molly’s retailers like Anthropologie, but of course, the site stands uniquely on its own. It remains simple, minimal, and easy to navigate so that her customers can see all that she has to offer and shop the gorgeous catalog. They’ll leave knowing a little more about the Molly Hatch brand and come back again when shopping for whimsical and traditional tableware and gifts.

Artist, designer, and ceramicist Molly Hatch began her career as a studio potter, infusing her tableware and home decor items with contemporary sensibilities and classical charm. The daughter of a painter and an organic dairy farmer, she draws from the beauty of everyday objects by imagining where each will live. A cake stand may become a marker of birthdays and celebrations. A weekend tote may see countless trips to the farmers market. Their repeated use creates a story to be treasured for generations.
With a formal education in ceramics and drawing, Molly launched her first tableware collection from her home studio in 2010. Her signature blend of 18th century aesthetics with modern whimsy quickly garnered a loyal following, launching her brand into a wide range of lifestyle products for the home. Today, Molly Hatch collections can be found through the brand’s partnerships with almost 30 gift and home goods companies. Molly works from her studio in Florence, Massachusetts, where she continues to hone her craft and make the traditional new again.
At 6 months after the launch of the new site, we saw sales averaging 5.5 times higher per month, and the new conversion rate is nearly double what it was on Molly’s old site! Engagement on the redesigned site is excellent.
