The Challenge

Over the past 15+ years, Albertine Press has grown from a one-woman studio to a team of ten running a retail store, print for hire, workshops, and custom printing – including weddings. Shelley came to us looking for a highly functional website that communicates the various aspects of the business, showcases the artisanal process of making high end letterpress products, and decreases the amount of customer inquiries. Our goal was to create a comprehensive site with a smooth customer experience.

Our Approach

By merging their two existing sites into one cohesive design, we created a well-organized layout that helps customers understand the brand and easily find what they are looking for. We balanced the clean and minimalist design with playful details like Shelley’s hand drawn illustrations and colorful photography to give the site a personal and approachable feel. Descriptive product pages cut down on customer inquiries and increase purchases.

Custom Shopify website for Albertine Press — One of Shelley’s major goals for the redesign was to see a growth in the number of wedding clients coming from elsewhere, not just those locally based. In order to help her achieve this goal, we called attention to the Custom Weddings section of her site in the navigation bar and included thorough information for potential customers to review before reaching out.

I appreciated the expertise and responsiveness of the whole team, their understanding of my vision, explanations and behind the scenes details for my curious mind, and flexibility to navigate changes within the Shopify system, which they executed beautifully. I imagine it’s hard to be hired as a designer to work for a designer – we have lots of opinions and are super attentive to tiny details. But all of our comments were welcomed and integrated with grace and positivity.
