Custom Shopify website design for a renowned artist and illustrator

The Challenge

Lisa Congdon is an artist and illustrator who sells prints and products online and in a brick & mortar, teaches classes, writes and illustrates books, licenses her work, and does public speaking. While her client roster continued to grow, her website wasn’t serving her. All of her online sales took place via her Etsy shop, while she had a separate, information-only website. Her goal was to create a single mobile-friendly ecommerce website that was easy to navigate.

Our Approach

For Lisa Congdon’s custom Shopify website, we incorporated Lisa’s own illustrations and core brand colors to ensure the new website had plenty of punch and personality. We balanced the bright colors with white space and warm tones, keeping it clean, fresh, modern and easy-to-browse with Lisa’s art and products as the star. We layered in subtle load-animations on the new site to create a more contemporary, visually rich experience.

Lisa came to Aeolidia and presented us with the challenge of creating a site that consolidated all the various aspects of her work and business in a single, easy-to-use site. We wanted to highlight Lisa’s illustration portfolio, her latest book tour/press updates, and most importantly, create a streamlined online shop that could support her growing online business.

The goal for this custom Shopify website was to create a fresh, fun, immersive shopping experience that inspired and engaged customers. Inspired by Lisa Congdon’s quirky and bold art we made sure that the website showcased the products while being a modern and welcoming space.

I avoided creating a new website for a long time, even though I knew I needed one. Aeolidia worked to make the process as organized and simple as possible.
