Aeolidia to the rescue!
Deep Space Sparkle has been empowering art teachers with fun, standards-rich art lesson plans, workshops, podcasts, support, and The Sparkler’s Club — an online membership of over 5,000 teachers — for the past 10 years. Founder Patty and her team believe that you don’t need to be a great artist to teach art to kids, and they excel at helping adults sparkle in the art room.
Patty was getting ready to launch a new subscription box, and she wanted to create a name & branding that would tie in with their existing Deep Space Sparkle company without using the same Deep Space Sparkle name or brand identity.
Aeolidia to the rescue!
We worked with Patty and the Deep Space Sparkle team to develop a new name and brand identity for their subscription box.
First, Caroline Colom Vásquez worked with them to dig deep into their goals and ideal client for this new project. Our copywriter Natalia Sylvester is an ace at business naming, and she helped them decide on the new name Primerry – a playful spin on the primary colors used so often in children’s art. With clearly defined goals and a new name in place, designer Christine Castro Hughes created a complete brand identity, including logos, brand marks, and custom illustrations. She then used the new branding on designs for business cards, stickers, worksheets, labels, and subscription boxes.
What Our Client Had to Say
It has always been a dream of mine to work with a branding company that could take my ideas and create a concept that was beyond my scope of imagination. Aeolidia created a beautiful experience as the development of my brand unfolded. It truly was magical.
“I am thrilled with how this looks! I love the important touches that make it feel like a professional retail site such as the hover to magnify, the accordions, and the ability to click on the design name to see matching items. The time, expertise, and thoughtfulness of the team is very evident! I’m gobsmacked!”
Oh my goodness. You got it. Can’t wait to explore this more. The font/logo is perfect. The colors are 95% there. You are amazing.
Thank you for all of this. I’m just so excited.
While Christine worked on Primerry’s new logo, she kept the existing Deep Space Sparkle logo top of mind (in fact, it was literally in view as she sketched!). There were many creative and playful directions she considered, but in the end Christine realized that a simple but powerful logo would be best suited for this project.
The primary colors themselves were the key design element: red, yellow, and blue — so Christine simply used them in a way that complimented Deep Space Sparkle’s existing branding without just copying it.

Quick Brand Guide
What colors are more bright and fun than primary colors? This is another made-up word that evokes feelings of merriment while also connecting to the artsy aspects of your brand in a way that’d appeal to your design-savvy customer. Like you said, she’s not as interested in DIY crafts as she is in having her kids learn real, quality artistic skills. Though Primerry.com is not being used by another brand (and it’s not currently showing up as Trademarked) it is being parked, so buying it might be costly. Thus, I suggested getprimerry.com, which I think would work very well with a subscription-based brand!
