Aeolidia to the rescue!
“I’ve had my business for almost fourteen years. In that time, the business has gone through many changes, and I’ve had several web site revisions. None of them have ever worked the way I’ve wanted them to, but that’s because I was mostly trying to do them myself, with a friend’s help.
My shop is is very functional—once you get into it. But I think it’s WAY too hard to get into. People just want to get in and find what they’re looking for, or be inspired. Right now the only way to get in to the entire site is to click “catalog” which just isn’t intuitive, or pretty, or easy (to me).
I also just want the web site to be a lot prettier. It feels really pedestrian, design-wise. I would like it to reflect the atmosphere and spirit of the things that I create—things that are pretty, and small, and finely stitched, and flowery, and happy. I would like people to want to hang out browsing it because it’s beckoning them further in, allowing them to dream about stuff they’d like to make. I want it to be functional, yes; but I’d really like it to reflect the sweetness and handmade quality of my body or work, and I don’t think it’s doing that.”
Aeolidia to the rescue!
Mariah worked on a new logo and brand identity for Alicia, creating a logo that incorporated Alicia’s illustrations and ideas, which is delicate, cozy, warm, simple, and looked like heirloom-quality.
Mariah shared, “I love that you’re careful to follow your heart and that you’ll only make things that you yourself will love. You’ve created a following of like minded people who appreciate your unique vision. They know that you can be trusted to provide smart, detail oriented patterns and kits, created with great thoughtfulness and quality materials.”
Alicia was also interested in improving her already great client experience by re-thinking her packaging, and Mariah created new business cards, stickers, and even temporary tattoos to be sent with orders.
Lauren then designed a website that captures the sweetness and simplicity that Alicia was looking for, removing the barriers to exploration that the previous site had. The new site has no speed bumps on the way to shopping, and is a delight to explore.
