Outlaw Soaps offers gender-neutral soaps and sundries for adventurous people, made by a bunch of down-to-earth, awesome people in Gold Country, California. They’ve been a stealth company for the past 5 years, carefully formulating and market testing products that appeal to a broad demographic of people, unified under a common approach to life of being kind, having integrity, and not taking things too seriously.
This year, they started hiring and ramping up their marketing, and when they came to Aeolidia, they’d already seen their website sales more than double from the previous year, so they knew they were onto something.
While their products were hitting the right notes with their audience, behind the scenes things were a bit more chaotic. Founder Danielle had been running the company while also doing a part time contracting gig, which meant that important stuff like their website sometimes fell off the radar. The product photos lacked consistency, and the backend of their ecommerce site was a jumble of past experiments and apps that were installed but not meeting the needs of their growing company.
Outlaw Soaps was ready to increase their website sales and subscriptions, so they turned to Aeolidia for help revamping their Shopify website.

While putting together the new streamlined design for Outlaw Soaps, designer Christine Castro Hughes kept their top priorities in mind: to sell their products to a broad audience of badass adventures of all genders with a site that tells the Outlaw Soaps brand story and highlights the scent families and subscription offerings.
Christine’s concept for their custom Shopify website features a well organized layout, editorial style photography, and their existing branding to give the site a dynamic, polished look and feel. The awesomely designed Outlaw Soaps products truly shine, and the copy that Natalia Sylvester wrote helps tell their brand story. Compelling, cohesive photography paired with design details and engaging copy will keep their customers scrolling and encourage clicks — and ultimately, purchases.
