Aeolidia to the rescue!
Tanya and Stephanie's Project
Tanya and Stephanie were building a business around gift boxes for new moms. They told us,
“We want the perception of our company to be one that is cute, fun, a touch ironic and stylish. We want people buying this as a gift for someone to say, “Ahh, this is genius” and a little part of us wants them to be the smug friend at the baby shower who picked out the best, chic-est gift that doesn’t require a gift receipt. We want to have the gift that people say, “oh, I always just get this box for showers/visits, it’s the best.”
When we were in the Army, and deployed to combat zones, we’d receive wonderful care packages from home or from loved ones. I was somehow “adopted” by an adorable college freshman from Colorado who sent me the most useful but delightful stuff. Both of our families were care package heroes, because they knew us and because they knew we were in austere conditions and needed a glimpse of the outside world and also toothpaste. All of this informed our selection of items to put in our box.”
Aeolidia to the rescue!
We helped Stephanie and Tanya with settling on a business name, choosing domain names and social media handles, thinking about email strategy, and defining a target customer and unique selling proposition. The build of the project was a solid and detailed graphic brand identity, with many print pieces and all-important packaging. We called in Valentina Armstrong, an illustrator we admire, to add personality to the design.
What Our Client Had to Say
If you find yourself repeatedly discovering the “Designed by Aeolidia” mark on every-single-piece of design inspiration you pin, or on every website you happen upon and think “this is lovely,” then you should really consider engaging their services.
If you are hesitant because of the cost, calculate what your OWN time is worth per hour, then spread that out over the length of time you’ve been DIY (DIY-ing?) and you will be shocked.
It is intimidating to allow them to triage your current state of branding- it sort of feels like you’re asking Georgia O’Keeffe what she thinks of the magnolia shaped bathroom rug you got at Big Lots…but they are so kind!!! They are a team of talented, professional people (who happen to be women) that push you past your own blind spots/fears/ignorance toward the paradigm shift you didn’t realize you needed.
For the Bosq logo, Jess was inspired to design something clean and typography-centric that could weather the trends and play nicely with more vibrant and fun brand elements. The Bosq team were drawn to chic, beautiful, and classic logos paired with patterns and illustrative elements. This new logo absolutely has that beautiful look but can also easily mesh with more “loud” design elements that possess the wit and vibrancy of Bosq.
When looking at the gift box competition it was clear that there was a nice hole in the market for a millennial-driven mama gift box aimed at people that love a bit of color and sass but also still desire a professional business to make educated choices for them. Jess worked to balance that fun, wit, and warmth with a look that is also clean and trustworthy. New young mamas will love it, but it won’t turn off the grandmas eagerly looking to send a great gift to their daughter-in-law.
