Mahar Drygoods

Designer: Arianne
Artist: Jen Corace

Cart: CKGold
Blog: Wordpress
The Mahar Drygoods site is illustrated by Jen Corace and uses CKGold as the shop software.

Robert had a good feel for what he wanted, and a lot of great ideas, and Jen used those to come up with some charming illustrations. The design was a collaboration between Robert and me, and he had a friend who is a Flash genius animate the splash page illustration and the main header.

The main page shows featured items, and Robert can move items to a special gallery section easily in the admin once they've sold. The Wordpress blog is integrated into the shop software so that it's all one coherent site. For the item pages, I embedded CKGold's photo gallery feature in the page so that customers can view all the product images using navigation links, rather than having to use a pop-up page.

We had the CKGold programmer customize their wish list feature so that Robert's customers can easily email their wish lists to friends, and so that customers can search for others' wish lists.

One of the best business decisions I've made

"When I decided to launch my own site, I spent hours on-line bookmarking other sites I found appealing. I realized at a certain point that several of the sites in my 'top 20' were designed by Aeolidia. Approaching Arianne to work on my site was one of the best business decisions I've made.

Throughout the entire process of building the site, Arianne was professional, good-natured and patient to a fault. I needed a lot of hand-holding, having never been through the process of pulling a site together and Arianne assisted me in selecting a shopping cart, web host service, email mailing list management service. Aeolidia has a fantastic client/project management software that kept me constantly informed of deadline, schedules and to-do lists. I am thrilled with our end result and cannot recommend Arianne and Aeolidia highly enough."
