Big Jon

Big Jon

"I needed a coherent and professional 'shop window' on the internet. Paying other people with the right experience to do it for me made me interrogate my brand and ask questions of myself which would not have happened if I had attempted to do it all.

I now have an online presence which I am really proud of and can link back to in a million ways be it online, through social media or face to face. The ability to close the sale at the last step of the journey with an e-commerce site is the icing on the cake.

I now look and feel like a professional who means business and the site has actually made me approach my entire brand with a different head on. I'm now more confident in my business and its future than I have ever been.

I wanted to swoop in and say a huge thank you to all of you for helping to make my brand and website beyond my wildest dreams - brilliant. Thank you all for your patience, thousands of miles and thousands of seconds time difference can be challenging but you made it feel like we were in the same room - (although not so close that I could see you tutting and rolling your eyes - which I guess maybe happened now and again?!) ha ha. I am over the moon."

Rare Device

Rare Device

"Our previous website is 8 years old! It was the first and only Rare Device website, the one that Rena and Arianne worked on together when Rare Device first opened in 2005. Having said that, the fact that it lasted 8 years and was still useful to us speaks volumes about how well-made it was. When I decided that it was time to have a new website, I thought that it was a great opportunity to create a new logo as well. I wanted our new logo to be clean, modern, but fun, which is what Rare Device is all about.

The team at Aeolidia have been spectacular, starting with our designer, Meg Lewis, who captured my vision so vividly. Meg also designed our new logo, which I just love! From the moment Meg showed me the initial logo concepts, I knew we were in great hands. Our developer, Zoe Rooney, brought Meg's designs to life and was very patient and comforting as we went through some issues that were all eventually resolved. "

Lovely & Co.

Lovely & Co.

After the problems we had with our previous designers, working with Aeolidia on our logo design was a breath of fresh air. Everything was very clear, from the quote to the extremely useful calendar, so we knew exactly where we were throughout. I was also greatly impressed by how promptly Meg responded to my emails – she made me feel like she was prioritising the project at all times and the fact that we were working with time differences didn’t matter. Meg’s manner is highly professional and friendly – she had no problem at all when I didn’t want to go with one round of revisions – which inspired total confidence – and the end result is exactly what we wanted. I am looking forward to working with Aeolidia again on our web design.

"So great to work with, I hired them for a second project. I highly recommend them.

It was worth the investment because I have a seamlessly functioning website that looks beautiful. It saves me SO MUCH TIME compared to building a site myself, and updating the (poorly constructed) site I built myself. For me, it's worth the peace of mind that everything looks great and is working.

The site looks so professional that sometimes it's actually been a hindrance in my industry - people think my company is bigger than it is, and they value small, family businesses and overlook me. I have to reiterate that my business is JUST ME to many people. I have to say, though, I'd rather have that problem than have a site that looks home made."

1canoe2

1canoe2

"Understandably, we were completely overwhelmed by the idea of designing our new site. We knew it needed to look like us and that it needed to be clean and robust. Because of their specialized client base, Aeolidia already knew the type of company we were, without hours of explanation or exhausting revisions. We were so blown away with the first design draft that we only made a few small revisions, and that's saying something from people as visually picky as we can be. It was intuitively 1canoe2, in a way that we weren't able to express on our own.

Every step of the process was easy, educational, and organized. I just don't think it could have gone any smoother or faster. And on top of all that, the final website is above and beyond what we dreamed up ourselves. We are enabled to go create more hand-illustrated products and effortlessly sell them ourselves in just the way we want to present ourselves to the world."

The Flair Exchange

The Flair Exchange

"Since working with the Aeolidia team, my business has experienced a much more proficient work day. I reached out to Aeolidia to create a website that allowed my customers to create custom products & preview them prior to purchasing ( which Zak and the Aeolidia team pulled off flawlessly ), but what I got was a much more cohesive website & visual representation of what The Flair Exchange offers. Having worked with several graphic designers in the past, I initially dreaded the thought of going through a logo redesign. It had always seemed impossible to explain what I wanted. Meg, however was a dream to work with and kept the process concise. The Aeolidia team is incredibly organized and quick to respond to any concerns. While this was a substantial financial investment, it was worth every single penny. Samantha, Meg & Zak are rock stars in our eyes!"

Weaving Works

Weaving Works
"We are an established yarn and fiber arts store and school in Seattle. Been in business since 1974, teaching classes and providing supplies from spinning, weaving, knitting, crochet, felting, dyeing, basketry and other fiber and textile arts. We have a super knowledgable staff and offer a comfortable environment to plan and gather resources for projects of all nature.

We have been pretty old school up until now, and a little for everyone at the moment. Not exactly super niche, we do supply those with less popular crafts.

I would like our customers to view us and our website as informative, easy to use/convenient, clear and robust. I would like the site to help us keep our customers engaged and informed and add convenience to their shopping with us."

Fairmount Fibers

Fairmount Fibers
Fairmount Fibers is the US wholesale distributor of Manos del Uruguay yarns, and wanted an informational site about the yarns and their patterns with a log in for their wholesalers to place orders through the site.

They want the site to reflect the new aesthetic of Manos del Uruguay yarns, so we used their logo and bright, bold colors to make something outstanding.

Emily McDowell

Emily McDowell
Emily told us:

“My goal is to have a cohesive, professional, beautifully designed “home” online that represents me as both a business entity and a person. Visitors will be able to see exactly what I’m about and what my business is about, and my site will reflect the level of professionalism I offer to everyone I work with (in other words, I’ll look like I have my shit together.) Right now, I’m kind of all over the place, and in doing so, I’m breaking the #1 rule of building a brand.”

Done and done! Meg and Brad worked on this one together. Shoshanna coded it up in WordPress using Woocommerce. Emily was super fun to work with, of course.

TinySoles

TinySoles
There is nothing like focusing what you offer to make your business cohesive and have it appeal to that perfect customer. Chalese of TinySoles understands that, and told us this about her business:

"Our store was built on the philosophy of only carrying shoes that promote natural foot health and development, so we hand select all our products based on quality, style and age/stage appropriate design. We definitely cater to a more narrowed selection of style that is MODERN, URBAN and OUTDOORSY – we steer clear of loafers and classics (we like to call them Grandma Bait!). We offer the expertise, personal service and product knowledge of a boutique store while providing the shopping perks of a big store like huge selection, great prices, free shipping & easy returns."

Chalese also gives us a great example of how having focused goals results in a successful website. Check out these well thought out goals:

"Our ultimate goal is to sell product, but we want to be everyone’s first go-to resource when they’re looking for kids shoes & accessories. So we don’t want someone walking away thinking I just got a great deal on a pair of shoes from some random online store, we want our customers to love their entire shopping experience with us so they want to come back and tell all of their friends about us.

We want our customers to know we have the best selection of kids shoes and accessories, that we offer free, fast shipping on all orders over $20 to US & Canada, that we’re here to help them find the perfect shoes for their kids with our real customer service, expert product knowledge and sizing help, and that we stand behind everything we sell. We also want our site to be really easy to navigate and find what you’re looking for."
